December 2010

Dear Parents,                                                                                                                         December 2010 Calendar

I hope all of you had a restful Thanksgiving!  We only have three weeks before Christmas break, but they are going to be packed with activities!  (Only 26 shopping days until Christmas!!! J)

As we anticipate winter setting in, I want to encourage you to either pick up a school magnet in the office, or put the school’s hotline number on your telephone speed dial!  You won’t have to listen to a radio station, or tune in to a TV station to find out what the plans are for Temple Christian School and/or daycare regarding inclement weather.  Simply call the hotline number (846-0024 #555) and I will have all current information about closings and delays.  A 1-hour delay means that everything will be delayed one hour.  Daycare will open at 7:15, teachers will arrive at 9:00, and class will begin at 9:30.  For a 2-hour delay, daycare will open at 8:15, teachers will arrive at 10:00, and class will begin at 10:30.  There may be times when morning daycare will not open at all and school will begin late.  Please make sure you check the hotline before you head out!  In addition, I will be posting all information with WSET-TV.  However, it’s much faster and easier for you to check the school hotline.  I’ll always try to let you know our plans in plenty of time to make arrangements for your day, and I will always err on the side of caution.  (Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!)

As you can tell by looking at the calendar, there are a number of athletic events and Christmas programs this month.  The K4 program is on Tuesday evening, December 7, at 7:00, and the annual band and choir Christmas concert is on Thursday evening, December 9.  If you are able, I would personally like to invite you to come see “Christmas Day in the Morning” on Thursday, December 16.  There are two performances:  9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  In the story, the Little Angels Home is about to close, and the orphans and staff are trying to come up with an “action plan” to keep that from happening.  All looks lost until a bus breaks down in front of the home and it is FULL of potential “parents” – including the world famous female evangelist, Sister Maria Albergotti   (A.K.A. Mary Crowder)!!!  You won’t want to miss it!!

Our last day of school before Christmas break will be Friday, December 17, and it will be a full day of school.  We will return to school on Monday, January 3.  Enjoy the two week break!

I hope you enjoy the month of December with all its activity, but I also hope that in the hustle and bustle you don’t lose sight of our wonderful Savior: the giver of all good and perfect gifts!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sweat
