Educating for Excellence

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new year at Temple Christian School!

We recognize that you had many options for your child’s education, and we thank you for choosing Temple Christian School.  Be assured that this is an honor we don’t take lightly.  We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment that is conducive to academic success and spiritual growth for each child at Temple Christian School.

Our goal is to unite the efforts of Christian parents, churches, and teachers to provide an educational experience that is adventurous, academically serious, and grounded on the foundation of our Judeo-Christian heritage.  We do not apologize for that, and we refuse to conform to today’s “woke” agenda.  Our students are expected to demonstrate a reverence for God, and a respect for their peers, for themselves, and for the sanctity of human life.  We want to teach them to be fearless in the face of difficulty because life is hard.  And here in these last days, it will only get darker and harder.  But we have hope!  We want to help them learn to navigate fearlessly, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Learning is an adventure of a lifetime, and we want to instill a love of learning in the hearts of our students.  Learning is both exciting and challenging, rigorously demanding but deeply satisfying.  Here at Temple, we say we are “educating for excellence,” and as such, we hold the bar high.  That includes academics, attendance, and deportment.  We are not “educating for mediocrity,” – teaching our students to do “just enough to get by,” and not facing consequences for poor behavior.  If that’s what you’re looking for, we love you, but Temple Christian School is not for you.  Our students will be challenged to do more than they thought they could, and go further than they ever dreamed possible, hopefully learn to exercise self-control/self-restraint in the process. There’s an exhilaration that comes with accomplishment, and our hope is that they will experience that here at TCS.

Everything we do here at Temple is dedicated to and dependent on the Lord.  That is not just a trite little saying that we’ve memorized.  We are trusting that He will continue to protect us and guide us and make our paths straight.  We can think of nothing more extraordinary than being instruments in His hands to prepare the next generation of Christians to boldly and confidently take their places of leadership in families, churches, and society.  Thank you for your commitment to Christian education and for your confidence in Temple Christian School.

We’re glad God has led you and your family here, and we look forward to serving you and your children throughout this school year!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Sweat
